PENNY LOAFERS

I know Michael is dead (R.I.P.) but these shoes aren't dead.  Last year they made a come back and this trend, like many others, will trickle into 2012.

I think they're cute.  Well...some of them.  There are plenty of styles out there.  High heeled and flat.  The flat are the big trend for the spring.  I like the smoking loafers more than any other loafers right now.  My favorite pair that I own are Steven by Steve Madden in leopard calf hair.  I wore them with a denim button down and red skinny jeans and it was one of the cutest and most comfy outfits EVER!

 
If you don't like loafers, especially penny loafers, don't buy a pair just because they're "in."  If worn the right way they can be cute.  I saw a flat version of them on "give them away" sale at Target. ("give them away" sale = so cheap, they were giving them away)  The black are still regular priced ($24.99) online at target.com.  That is still a deal for penny loafers.  The red penny loafers are on sale for half the price.



Of course I can't mention penny loafers without mentioning Audrey Hepburn.  She was always so classy and tres chic.  So was Grace Kelly.






Kate Moss proves that they are still tres chic in this time period.... 






Thigh high socks paired with shorts or a skirt is also very cute with penny loafers.  I like her sock and shoe combo....not a huge fan of the rest. (YIKES) 



Rolling or cuffing them with jeans is also an option....




Try a bright color....
